I was particularly interested in your juxtaposition of the different rationales used by art museum curators and archivists to help viewers understand the intentions of late photographers who can no speak for themselves. I’ve got a ways to go before I, too, become a “late” photographer, but my life’s work — hundreds of thousands of b+w negs & color trannies, papers, and prints — is now cared for by a major institution.
One niggling point: this article begs a good copy editor; there are repititions. It’s hard to do one’s self. I know.
