Even though we have, today, the benefit of auto-focus, I hear no one talking about, see no one writing about, the most tried-and-true technique that, for example, the most obvious proponent, Henri Cartier-Bresson, would use for ready-in-the-blink-of-an-eye street shooting: setting the hyper-focal distance on your lens. Does anybody remember what those little tic marks are for, engraved on your lens, adjacent to each indication of f-stop?
